Digital Switchover site Screen

The Digital Switchover web site allowed UK residents to find out, from their post code, which digital television services should be available to them. This built on the similar database of terrestrial reception used on the DTG web site and was platform-neutral and included satellite, cable and DSL services.

The site was designed by the DTG's graphic design supplier (Fifthcorner) and built by ATSF using XHTML, Perl and CSS. The data retrieval system was bespoke and built by ATSF: it was designed to allow both fast access and ease of updating across various data suppliers.

The pages were in English and Welsh and they were also designed with accessibility in mind. For this reason, the site looked completely different without its style sheet but conveyed exactly the same information.

The function of the Digital Switchover site has now been taken over by the Digital UK web site. Although ATSF has no involvement in the design and build of this site we are responsible for the digital reception database used on it, in conjunction with the DTG and the service suppliers.
