The launch of high definition television in the UK, through Sky, Telewest and others, has highlighted the difficulty faced by consumers in choosing a suitable display. The European EICTA organisation has specified a set of critera that a display must meet in order to earn an HD ready badge and this web site lists these displays and provides a search mechanism for consumers.
The look is based on a DTG design by Robin Souter of Fifthcorner and incorporates a PHP/MySQL integration. The visiting consumer sees only a single search facility and can seem to use the site within a single web page.
Information on displays is input by the display brand managers. An account is set up for each brand and from there the brand can be self-managed using a web-based interface.
