Portugal - From the Douro down to Lisbon
These shots are some of the results of a journey from Oporto, along the Douro Valley, down though the centre of Portugal to Lisbon.
They include a ruined hermitage in a forest which makes up the grounds of the Buçaco Palace Hotel and a guardian angel on the walls of this old royal hunting lodge. There is a carved statue in a park in Lisbon; it's sensuous curves mirrored in the strands of ivy clinging to a nearby tree. There are the cloisters and belfry of Évora Cathedral and a castle, perched on a rock at the confluence of the Rio Tejo and Rio Zêzere.
